UNSOM Sports Medicine Fellowship of Las Vegas

Founder and Former Program Director - Dr. Lenhart is Board Certified in Family Medicine and Sports Medicine and is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine. He was formerly the Team Physician for the University of Nevada Las Vegas and University of North Carolina, Wilmington. Dr. Lenhart was Professor of Family Medicine and served as Vice Chancellor University of Nevada Health Sciences System and is former vice-dean at the University of Nevada School of Medicine.

Former Fellow (06-07) and Current Program Director - Dr. Milligan currently serves as the head team physician and medical director for UNLV athletics. He completed his 2 year sports medicine fellowship at the University of Nevada School of Medicine - Las Vegas in 2008. Dr. Milligan is board-certified in family medicine, he holds a CAQ in Sports Medicine and has completed the UNC-Chapel Hill Family Medicine faculty development fellowship.

Former Fellow (06-07) - LtCol (Dr) Hank Lau is the Associate Program Director and Chief of Sports Medicine at the combined USAF/University of Nebraska Family Medicine Residency Program. He is also currently team physician with the University of Nebraska at Omaha Mavericks. Dr. Lau completed the Faculty Development Fellowship at the University of North Carolina in 2009. He was recently selected as the 2010 “Faculty Member of the Year”.

Brigham Wise, MD, CAQSM
Former Fellow (07-08) - Brigham completed the Sports Medicine Fellowship in 2008. Dr. Wise is board-certified in family medicine and has his CAQSM. He graduated from Tulane University School of Medicine and completed Family Medicine Residency at the University of Missouri - Columbia. He is currently working in Walnut Creek, CA at Kaiser in the Orthopedics Department.

Former Fellow (08-09) - Dr. Malik currently practices Family and Sports Medicine in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He is also co-team physician for Kentucky Wesleyan College and the Bowling Green Hot Rods (class A affiliate for Tampa Bay Rays). His clinical interests include combat sports (boxing, mixed martial arts) and pediatric conditions.

Former Fellow (09-10) - Dr. Shah received his undergraduate degree from East Carolina University and went to medical school at the American University of the Caribbean in St Maarten. He completed a Family Medicine residency at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC, which is affiliated with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Specific sports medicine interests include football and basketball.
